Acid Rain
A mysterious rain is dissolving the world. As everyone else panics, it is you, Duke Duck Dude, who knows just what to do in a time like this: eat every last donut on the planet to keep them from going to waste. How many donuts are left in the world? How far will a lone Duck Dude go to get his noms? Play to find out!
Also, who knew a duck that eats donuts could control the weather?
Note: Game engine browser target is only tested on Chrome currently so other browsers will likely have issues. There is also a known bug with how AudioContext is currently loaded right away and Chrome will sometimes not allow the audio to play unless a user gesture happens on the page first.
Gameplay
Over time the rain will dissolve the tiles you are running on. Eat donuts to fill the power gauge so you can temporarily stop the rain. Also, the intensity of the rain will increase over time. The intensity level will decrease after eating a few donuts.

About Development
This game was built as a submission for the One Lone Coder Codejam 2022. It is the first real test of a custom Java 2D game engine I am working on. The goal of the game engine is to utilize no outside libraries to force myself to learn more about how games are made (plus it is a lot of fun!). I worked on this game with a few good buddies I met long ago in college who are also interested in making little games in their free time. We hope you enjoy our first completed project!
If you enjoyed this project and you'd like to see how it was built then feel free to check out its GitHub repository!

Wonderful! well done, I love how your player direction works, very smooth and of course the "quack" sound, that was so funny
Kind regards
John
I’m glad you enjoyed the game! The quack is my favorite :)
I really enjoyed the rain effect, even though it was trying to kill me
I’m glad you liked it! I researched for awhile trying to find some ideas for the effect I was wanting to go for. It ended up working out better than I could’ve hoped!
this was quite fun. reminds me of the langoliers the way the ground is being eaten away
Thanks for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
